- Considering the development opportunities available to you this year, how have you applied what you learned?
During the course of this year I have improved in my typing ability and other computer attributes. I have had many projects that require my ability to use Microsoft Word and other Microsoft Office programs. I have applied everything I learned inside of class and outside, making informational PowerPoint’s and other leisure activities. Attending this school requires me to have an exceptional ability to use modern day technology, to keep pace with this vastly emergent world.
2. What strengths do you possess that you can use at a higher level next year?
My strengths I have are that I am a well rounded student, my strongest subject happens to be mathematics but other courses are just as good. My ability to differentiate social and working problems also allows me to focus on the real issues. To have strength one must have few weaknesses or at least be able to control them; that is my strength, even though I have weaknesses I am able to control them and morph and manipulate them so they can be strength.
3. What obstacles must you work through so you can meet all your goals for this year?
I tend not to reach any of my goals I set forth for myself. It may be the fact that I set my goals too high or do not work too hard and ultimately I presume that this is my true goal, to determine why I almost never reach any of my goals. The irony of this whole situation is that this goal might not be met either. I face many obstacles in everyday life: being hearing impaired, being a teenager, and facing the world by myself. Life in itself is a big obstacle and surviving let alone living is a goal not many realize. This is a vague discussion on obstacles and goals but in the end of the day my true goal is not disappointing myself, which is easier said than done.
4. Discuss what you have learned during the class and how it will assist you in achieving further academic and work related goals.
In the first discussion question I addressed this topic. Having computer and other computer related skills is essential in our modernized world; the world today relies heavily on computers and other electronically based skills. I want to become an actuary or something in the business field and in the United States economy businesses use internet and other forms of electronic based record keeping. Recognizing this computer application based learning is more and more mandatory.
5. If you could do any assignment over this year, which one would it be and why? Any regrets?
In this class I have maintained an average above the ninety percentile. I have kept this grade by doing my work, turning it in timely and making sure my work is not only done well by the teachers’ standards but by mine as well. This class not only was easy for me I took this class very seriously as I do for every class of mine.
6. What are 3 words you would use to describe this class?
Three words that I would use to describe this class would be: fun, easy and educational.
7. How did your computer skills grow or improve over the course of the year?
As the school year progressed my typing speed and accuracy increased. In this school year I also learned how to use Microsoft Excel with greater knowledge. During the second semester of this year I was able to learn how to use Microsoft Access. I have never used it before and now I believe I have a steady grasp of Microsoft Access.
8. What were your greatest challenges or lessons learned?
In general, my greatest challenge is being able to sustain my level of emotion. Following my sophomore year, which was more like an emotional rollercoaster, junior year was and is pretty much the same. I can honestly say that I wouldn’t change anything. My greatest lesson learned was to try you hardest, at everything because you never know what might happen. Hard work always pays off; wither in the long run or in the short term.
